For their Party Store album (due this winter on In The Red), venerated garage rockers The Dirtbombs recorded covers of techno classics from their native Detroit. As if this live-band-does-electronic-music interpretation wasn’t high concept enough, this EP takes it a step further by having Detroit techno artists re-digitize the results to create their own remixes of The Dirtbombs’ versions. Phew!

"Killer 12" from Kyle Hall and his hotly tipped Detroit buddy Manuel Gonzalez, operating under the NSNT (New School N1994 Techno) PRJCT moniker. The four tracks of 'Faygo My Laygo' are on a far more stripped, abstract and pumping tip to much of his previous work, from the almost EBM-ish 'X1 Tr4mps', to the totally decimated fractal soul blur of 'X2 (We Invented Dis)', and over to an extra warped rendition of 'Tr4mps' and the psyched metallic textures of 'Recog'. For our 2 cents it's one of the deadliest 12"s Kyle has been involved with, and doubtless an amazing introduction to the talents of Manuel Gonzalez." Boomkat
